The Video Production Process: Many people can use a video camera. Editing and producting a video is a different process. The production process typically has three main phases:
1. Pre-production
2. Production
3. Post-production

Overview: This year I was nominated by my district as a Keystone: Technology Integrator. One of the requirements for selection at the state level, was the creationg of an electronic presentation (PowerPoint slideshow, a digital movie or any other multimedia) that can be easily viewed by others. The presentation needed to illustrate how the Keystone usea technology to enhance instruction and improve overall student performance. In addition, it needed to showcase student work that demonstrated the result of the integration of technology into classroom instruction. While the student work could have been submitted separately, it was my goal to use Microsoft Producer so that all of the elements could be combined into into a single presentation that would not only satisfy the requirements for the project, but that could be used to instruct teachers and help them to begin to integrate technology into their own teaching. It is a district goal to begin to create e-classrooms within the district. This video will be used as a springboard for discussion during "teaching in your e-classroom" training to help teachers begin to infuse technology into their own lessons. In additon, community and board members will be able to list ways technology is integrated into the classrooms at Roberts Elementary School by watching this video.
Audience
Objectives (School Board / Community as audience): This video will be used for school board and community presentations to showcase technology use in the school district. The video will be shown and the viewer will:
After watching the video, and meeting the objectives above, audience will discuss applications listed and examine what is needed to implement e-tech plan and provide necessary equipment for creating e-classrooms throughout the district.
Objectives (Teacher as audience): This video will be used in an instructional manner during the "teaching in your e-classroom" training for teachers who received LCD projectors for the 2005-06 school year. At the beginning of the training session, the video will be shown and the viewer will:
After watching the video, and meeting the objectives above, audience will discuss applications listed and connect them to their own curriculum in order to design a plan for one way that they can use technology as an instructional tool in their own classroom.

Voice over from My video 1: Today's children will be entering a society where information is growing rapidly. In order for them to be successful, they need to move from just learning "facts" to learning how to gather and evaluate information so that they can apply this knowledge and integrate it into their rapidly changing world.

Use audio from My Video 2: Being able to use and appy technology is essential for today's educators. I see technology as a vital means of communication and as a valuable instructional tool. It is important to find ways daily to infuse technology into my lessons, to provide resources to enrich the curriculum, as well as to support the diverse learning styles of the children in the classroom. Technology is useful to extend learned skills, and to provide differentiated practice for the students with immediate feedback and the students appreciate this practice as well | Technology PPT: SLIDE 2 |

| Kids working--edited from a variety of experiences | Children learn best when they are provided with natural learning experiences. It is important to teach technology applications by infusing them as a natural part of instruction. In my classroom, when we studied biographies, it was natural to teach the children to make a timeline using TImeLiner software. Throughout the year, as we do writing projects, I teach the students to use Kidspiration to help organized their thougts and reinforce the writing process. There is a natural transition to word processing using Microsoft Word, so I teach word processing skills through my wiritng lessons | Technology PPT: SLIDE 3 Natural Learning experiences

Using Microsoft Producer for Power Point:
As a result of my video, I was selected as a State-level Keystone and have been invited participate in a five-day summit where I will collaborate with colleagues, share ideas and practices, and strategize ways to disseminate model practices across the Commonwealth. In addition, the video has been used during Open House and summer inservice workshops as an example of best practices and training for teachers with LCD projectors in their classrooms.
