Network Design Issues

Network design is critical to mapping the computing needs for an individual school and whole district.  In order to design a network many factors need to be considered. The following is the process of design for a ficticious Middle School --Paterno Middle School designed by the team of: Lance Burnell, Mary Meisel, Steve White, Kristin Hokanson, and Nicole Kneisley during the summer of 2005.

The first step in Network Design is to look at the current equipment and staff goals, make recommendations, and create an initial wiring diagram as listed in this description. After discussion with the committee, and considering all of the variables the following proposal was recommended.
